“CORE
CHARGE” defined: In stock OEM superchargers are sold on an
exchange basis. The core charge listed for your vehicle’s
specific unit is charged to ensure that we receive your rebuildable
supercharger back to replenish our stock for the unit that we have
sent to you. Approximately 95% of the cores that we receive are
refunded 100% of the core charge. A 100% refunded core is one that
is complete, has not been dismantled for attempted repair (must
be original factory assembled), and with wear or damage to components
that are always replaced in a complete remanufacturing process,
i.e. bearings, seals, lubricants, couplers and bypass valve plates
and bearings if applicable. Damage to major components that are
not routinely replaced or expected to wear under normal operation
would include (but is not limited to): supercharger housing, nose
cone (housing), nose cone shaft, shaft hub, pulley, gear sets and
butterfly shaft if applicable.
In the approximately 5% of the cases where
the core charge is not 100% refunded, almost all have only a portion
of the deposit withheld simply to recover the cost of the damaged
component or components that must be replaced. PSE will contact
the customer in these instances to discuss the results of our
inspection.
